Full disclosure: I extensively play tested this pack during development, and gave feedback on some files, so my opinion may have a bias. The screenshots included in this review are simply finished charts that I don't have a score on. My review will still be as impartial as possible, though. My review will refer to the entire pack, even if the specific screenshots in the review are only a few files.
With that being said, I think this pack is a really good representation of the community's creativity. It may not have Dumps, but it showcases everyone's styles very well, and the whole hosting process and community involvement throughout was very pleasant to see. I enjoy this pack a lot, and will recommend it. It's very reminiscent of the old FFR Community packs - which was likely Deamerai's intent. I enjoyed myself a lot playing this.
Since I playtested it, most of the pack is missing from this review, so I will list some of the standouts for me personally that I played during the playtesting phase of the pack production:
.59 charted by Celeb - Celeb banger as always. Clean, elegant structuring, minimalist layering where it matters. Generally just all around great chart.
Beat Juggling Mix charted by Xingren - Absolute banger of a chart, feels amazing to play. It's a Xingren chart, so you know what you're getting into.
HARD-COREMATA charted by Mika - If you know anything about Mika's charting, you know what's coming. This chart is a blast to play, easy favourite in the pack. Clean layering, excellent expression, and some awesome patterns.
polygon charted by Zeta - This chart has been sitting around for a long time, but it still holds up. Very clean chart, ODIpack type feel.
Rice Pudding & Steam charted by reroguro - This chart surprised me when I first played it. Incredibly satisfying charting. Was extremely fun to sightread! Just great representation of the music.
Strange Oriental Discourse charted by James May - My love for James's modern charting is well documented, but ever since The Etterna Touhou Project, James has been on a roll with his conventional charts. He's mastered effective but minimal layering in my opinion.
Tetoris charted by James May - Speaking of James May! This file just feels great to play. It doesn't do anything too crazy, it's just a very effective chart and conveying the vibe of the song. It also has some fun minijacks and bursts!
Shinkakei Sketch charted by Tortualex - This is my favourite chart in the entire pack. It feels like an Otaku's Dream file taken into 2026 and recharted to fit modern standards. I don't even like the song, but the chart made me vibe with it. Extremely fun chart, with clean execution and just brings out every single aspect of the song that matters. If the name doesn't ring a bell... it's the japanese named's chart at the bottom of the pack!
Also play my file :^)
That's everything! Well done to Deamerai and everyone involved in this pack! I had a blast playing it.
This chart was cute! I think the ending is a bit of a spike, but it fits the song. Clean chart.
This chart is fun for the most part! I enjoyed a lot of it, reminded me of old Otaku's Dream files. The one issue I have is that this chart falls into a frequent newbie charter trap of treating Splittrills and Jumptrills as if they are equal in both execution and overall difficulty. It uses them interchangeably as if they are the same thing, which is an unfortunate trap a lot of new charters fall into, because of the patterns significant use in Jumpstream where its very flow-focused. This does result in every Splittrill feel like a bit of a spike, but its a common and frequent thing throughout the game, not just this chart, and is entirely just something I take issue with, personally. Does not reduce the quality of the chart at all. Outside of that minor quirk, this chart is quite fun!
I want to start by saying, this is the best chart from Savi I have ever played. I'm very happy to see them improving! That being said... I don't like this, and I don't think it fits this pack. It's a very jumpy handstream chart with a glutty ending, it does not match the pack's vibe at all, in my opinion.
I love this chart! The chordjacking was perfectly aligned to both the music itself, and the vibe of the music. Those 24th gluts felt so good to hit. Really, really enjoyed this one. Great job! I only take issue with the small break before the speedup. Having no mines or holds or anything there really takes away from it, I think. At the very least, my mind was screaming for holds during that section. Having nothing but single notes really takes away from the atmosphere, I feel. Outside of that, great file!
First thing's first, I don't agree with cut versions of songs. It's extremely rare I think cutting a song for a conventional chart is a good idea. I say this, because the chart being a Cut version, makes my opinion bias - as I disprove of them, usually. I want to be transparent.
With that said, this chart felt way too safe. I didn't really feel like anything was being picked out particularly strongly. It was very flowey, and the majority of the bursts were manippable. I feel like this chart is a missed opportunity, with lots of potential, but the bursts were never a concern, and the main bulk of the chart was just friendly flowey jumpstream with some minijacks. The second half had some more interesting stuff in it, but it still was quite safe. Overall I think the chart played it too safe.
This chart was extremely fun! I loved the hold patterning, and the swingy gluts. Really good fun. One of my favourites in the pack! It feels like a chart that would've been in EVGP. Good stuff.
I want to like this one, because it does a lot of cool stuff, but I feel like its too scared to commit to those things. For every cool thing it does, there's 2 things that feel like they're far far too friendly to fit with that style. It's really jaring going from friendly trills/manippable bursts into some brutal bursts and that awesome quad minijack section. It feels like its a bit messy structurally, sadly. The packs I did enjoy, I loved though. I really, really liked those segments. I just didn't like what surrounded them, conceptually.
